The Great Gatsby is an over the top ride, but for me that isn’t a bad thing at all. The visuals are stunning, dreamy and outrageous (3D is worth it).
The Great Gatsby does start off slow but it’s never boring, it soon becomes very gripping with gorgeous scenes and fantastic performances from DiCaprio and Mulligan. Many have complained about the soundtrack including hip-hop tracks, but I honestly found that they fitted in well with the luxury and show-off nature of the characters.
Maybe I liked it much more than many because I haven’t read the book or seen any of the other adaptions. But some must remember that this isn’t F. Scott Fitzgerald’s version, it’s Baz Luhrmann’s, and I think he’s done a brilliant job.

All this may be Yahoo’s pretty soon. For a cool $1 billion. Honestly think Marissa Mayer can pull it off though, this is the new Yahoo at play. Yahoo has needed to have the younger generation back in its services and this may be one (expensive) way of doing it.
