When it comes to smart phones, it seems like there is always a brand new option, or a brand new feature, that has everybody talking. Whether it’s the unveiling of a new technology, or a new phone, or even a new type of data plan, there are always exciting developments in smart phones, and this makes it well worth keeping tabs on the latest news, upgrades and updates. Among these new developments is the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S3 from O2, which promises to be one of the sharpest and most capable mobile phones on the market. It is a direct upgrade over its slightly more affordable predecessor, the S2, but promises multiple new features that have consumers excited. Here are a few words on some of the more noteworthy features.
While this is not a single feature, the S3 has been praised most of all for its combination of intelligence and simplicity. While most new mobile phones have very smart capabilities, some of them have been needlessly complicated and difficult to manage. The Samsung Galaxy S3, on the other hand, is praised as being “human-friendly,” and easy to manage despite its smart capabilities.
Smart Stay – The smart stay feature is truly remarkable, and results in some extremely convenient developments. Smart Stay essentially means that this phone recognizes when you are looking at its screen, and will accordingly keep the display bright and appealing for as long as you are paying attention. This helps you to avoid the problem of screens going dark at inappropriate times, and is certainly an impressive feature.
o Direct Call – Another very impressive and handy new feature, Direct Call recognizes your intention to call one of your contacts simply by the motion of putting the phone to your ear. Of course, it can’t pick the contact on its own, but if you have navigated to a contact and are either texting that person or merely selecting the name, and then move the phone to your ear, it will automatically dial them up. This fits the label of “smart” about as well as any smart phone feature to date.
Pop-Up Play – Another brand new feature, Pop-Up Play allows you to use your phone even while you watch a video. This can be extremely convenient, as exiting away from a video sometimes means you have to find it and start it all over again when you get back to it. With Pop-Up Play you can text or email on your screen just above the video, without interrupting things.
